I am working with a client who has a very old version of QuickBooks Desktop (2009!) on his computer. He recently sent the QBB file to me and his CPA. Neither one of us have been able to restore the file. I am using QB Accountant Desktop 2017. When I attempted to restore the company file via "restore a backup file" -->"local backup", a message displayed which states: "The company file that you are trying to open was created with a newer version of QuickBooks. Please upgrade your copy of QuickBooks."
Hmmm, that is not the case and I need to find a solution. I have encouraged my client to upgrade his version of QuickBooks but am concerned that he won't be able to restore the company file either. So, where do we go from here?
