I have a amex card and also an amex gold card.  I can only import the original amex account- the gold card keeps saying that I have already synced the Amex card?! I have had to manually import all charges from this card its super annoying especiallt when I pay for QB to make my life easier not harder.

2 different American Express cards I can NOT import both? Why?

Hello, @MCS50.

The data that QuickBooks receive is dependent on what the bank shares with us.

If the login credentials for both accounts are the same, you should be seeing all the accounts when trying to connect with QuickBooks. On the other hand, if the accounts have different logins, you'll have to manually add it in QuickBooks. As of this time, QuickBooks can only support one login credentials for the same bank account.

However, you can still add your American Express- Gold account manually. Then, you'll have to import its transactions to QuickBooks. I'll guide how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu, then select the Chart of accounts.
  2. Click the New button to create an account.
  3. From the Account Type drop-down arrow, choose Credit Card.
  4. Give your account a name.
  5. Once done, click Save and Close.

After completing the steps, you can now import your transactions.

You can refer to this link to learn how to match and categorize bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
