A Transaction List by Customer report shows the same incorrect account for each transaction: Allowance for Doubtful Accounts. Definitely not correct. Suggestions?

Looking at each transaction individually, I see totally different accounts; most are appropriately categorized as expenses. I have no idea why they show as Allowance for Doubtful Accounts. I will post a screenshot if I can.

Hi arecibo2,

An expense that is billable to your customer will be posted to an income account. And I'm here to help you choose the correct account.

  1. Click Gear.
  2. Click Account and Settings.
  3. Click Advanced.
  4. Click the Pencil icon in the Chart of accounts section.
  5. Select the correct account under Billable expense income account.
  6. Click Save, and then Done.

You can read the details in this article: Enter billable expenses.
