An invoice, created and paid in the current month, is not showing up on the P&L nor in a sales report printed for a specific Sales line item. Why?

Hi @lwebb13851,

Welcome to the Community. I'm here to lend a hand with an invoice not appearing on your Profit and Loss or a Sales report.

Since you've referenced that the invoice was created and paid within the same month, then that likely rules out it being an issue of the report running in cash or accrual.

Just to clarify, is the product or service that's on the invoice tied to an income account? If not, this could explain why the transaction isn't appearing on a P&L or missing from a Sales report depending on how it was filtered. One way that you can check is to view the Transaction journal of the invoice. Here's how:

  1. Open up the Invoice.
  2. Select More at the bottom of the page.
  3. Click Transaction journal.

The following is a brief video to serve as an example:

This will list what accounts are being impacted by the invoice. Additionally, you can view the payment that's applied using the same steps.

I'm also including information on updating the account for an item that you sell in: How to Change the Account for a Product/Service Item.

Please feel free to let me know with how it goes by posting a comment below. Similarly, I'm just a few clicks away if you have questions.
