An old transaction from 2015 is showing up in my current Balance sheet and I need to delete it -- how is it done?
There are a few things we can consider before deleting it, lhinckley.
Let's check the Report period first if it includes 2015, and if it's correct let's review the transaction if it's reconciled. We might mess up your books if we delete a reconciled transaction. If so, I suggest reaching out to an accountant before deleting.
I'll show you how to review a reconciled transaction from the Balance Sheet report:
From the opened Balance Sheet report, drill-down to the bank by clicking the Total amount. This opens the Transaction Report.
At the upper-right, click Customize.
Click Change columns.
Check the Clr box.
Hit Run report.
Under the CLR column, R will indicate that the transaction is reconciled.
We can also delete the transaction from the Transaction Report. We'll just need to click on it and at the bottom menu, click More and select Delete. Hit Yes to confirm. Press F5 from our keyboard to refresh.
If there's anything else that you need help with, please let me know. Thanks!
