Depends. What's on a "true tax/non tax sales report?"
Greetings, @joniburskey!
You can consider pulling up the Taxable Sales Summary report. Let me guide you how.
Please know that saving this customized report by clicking Save customization will allow you to pull this up easily in the future. Simply, locate it on the Custom Reports tab when needed.
You can read and learn more about the process through this article: How to Customize Reports?

A True tax/non tax report would be one that allowed you to track your resale, tax exempt sales EASILY.
It's 2019, this has been an issue for OVER 10 years on here! Desktop users can! Why can't Online users track those sales?
A. I need to know how much we do in resale/tax exempt sales
B. I need to make sure I have the appropriate resale/tax exempt certificates on file
C. Make sure I am reporting the correct sales tax amounts each month/yearly
My Customize drop downs only have All, Specified and Non Specified as options! Not really helpful
Hi there, SSG1.
There's currently no option to track exempted sales. However, I can send suggestions to our product engineers about this.
For now, please follow the recommendation above.
Let us know if you have other questions.
I created a workaround by using the SHIP VIA field on invoices to track the location of the wholesale/exempt sale. I enter the location (Seattle, Tukwila, Everett, etc). I created a sales by customer detail report for the reporting period, modifying the standard SBCD report by adding Ship Via, Tax Name, Tax Amount and Taxable Amount. My report now includes Date, Transaction Type, Num, Product/Service, Amount, Ship Via, Tax Amount and Taxable Amount. If any transaction has Tax Name blank, I make sure it has the Ship Via city entered. Until they come up with a better option, that's what works for me.
The work around doesn't work! All I end up with is 5 products that are not taxable. No Customers are listed at all. I know for a fact that I have done more than 3,000.00 dollars in NonTaxable Sales!
I have tried the work around under the help section as well. All I have to choose from is ALL, Specified and Not Specified! This should Not be so difficult to figure out! I know I am not the only person who wants this information! You have had 10 Years to figure it out! What is the hold up?
You want me to sign up to have you do my Sales Tax for me? Not going to happen! If you can't figure out who is taxable and who is non taxable! How could I even trust you to get the numbers right?
