Can I activate a QB Self-Employed plan after canceling QBO?

I originally had a QB S-E plan and then upgraded to QBO. I decided QBO was more than I needed so I just canceled my QBO plan and would like to go back to QB S-E. How do I re-activate QB S-E

Can I activate a QB Self-Employed plan after canceling QBO?

Hello, johncapps-gmail-.

You can switch back to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account.

If you're currently using QuickBooks Online and you already canceled your subscription from there. Then, resubscribe as soon as you sign in to your QBSE account. To guide you further, you can follow these steps:

Resubscribe to QuickBooks Self-Employed:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed on a web brower.
  2. Click the profile icon and then Billing info.
  3. Select Subscribe.
  4. Review your billing and payment info.
  5. Select Subscribe.

That will do. Doing this helps you access your QBSE account again. I've collected some articles about handling transactions and other details in QBSE:

I'm here if you need more help. Just mention my name. Take care and stay safe!

Can I activate a QB Self-Employed plan after canceling QBO?

Thx, @AileneA -- I followed the steps you sent and after attempting to login to S-E, I'm directed to QBO. Not prompted to subscribe to QB S-E.

Related question: I canceled by QBO account but my billing period doesn't end until this time next month. Will that hold-up me re-subscribing to QB S-E?

Can I activate a QB Self-Employed plan after canceling QBO?

Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community, cappsjr62. I appreciate you for following the steps shared above to fix the issue and for coming back to the thread to provide detailed information about your concern. With this, I'll ensure you'll be able to reactive your QuickBooks Self Employed account.

QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Self-Employed are two different versions. The main difference between both programs is that QuickBooks Self-Employed is designed for Independent Contractors, while QuickBooks Online is for Small Businesses. That said, it could be that the link you're visiting and the log-in details are incorrect and that is the reason you're directed to QBO and not to QBSE. I suggest making sure that you're utilizing the correct website for QuickBooks Self Employed and ensuring that you use the exact log-in credentials.

On the other hand, even your QuickBooks Online is still active, it will not hold any reason to resubscribe in QBSE. However, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Online Support Team. They have the tools to pull up your account in a secure environment which we're unable to do it here in the Community. That way, they'll be able to investigate why your billing period doesn't end or you're still receiving charges.

Lastly, you may refer to this article to view different details on how QBSE is designed to help you record your self-employed income and expenses, track mileage, and prepare your Schedule C: QuickBooks Self-Employed Overview.

Please feel free to leave a comment below if you have any other QuickBooks questions. I'm more than happy to help. Have a good day!
