When switching from desktop to online accounting software, invoices appear different due to variations in templates and customization features, Mary. To make the invoices look similar, you will need to manually adjust the online template by altering elements like fonts, layout, and logos to match the desktop version. Let me provide a step by step on how to customize and design the invoices.
Here's how:
By following these steps, you can effectively customize your invoices in QuickBooks Online to match your business’s branding and needs.
Additionally, you have the option to configure automatic reminders that will be sent out a few days before or after the due date of the invoices.

@Mary-Kampmeier RE: Can my invoices look and print the same in online vs desktop?
No, there's no chance of that happening. QB Online Invoices are far less functional and weaker, and customizing the print layout is as well.
