Can't see entire date on register line

I'm on QB Pro Desktop Windows 2019.  Check register always cuts the date for the current register line item, due to the little calendar icon on the right of the date.  The space between the last digit of the year and the calendar icon is too big, and therefore cuts off the month and first front-slash.

Anybody have a fix for this frustrating 'feature'?

Yes, this has been an issue since about QuickBooks 2010 when Intuit re-hashed the user interface for the worse and then never addressed most of the resulting issues.

You'll still see the issue even with all things set to windows defaults.  No way to fix it in my experience.

Hi there, pb accounting,

Let me get the help you need about displays issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

QuickBooks is designed to work with the default settings of Windows DPI. To help us resolve your QuickBooks display, you may need to adjust your font, screen resolution, or other Windows settings (such as DPI).

You can perform the following solutions below to fix the issue:

Solution 1: Change QuickBooks DPI settings.

Solution 2: Change the Desktop View Preference.

Solution 3: Change Windows DPI settings.

Solution 4: Edit the screen resolution settings on your computer.

You can refer to this article for more information: QuickBooks Desktop display issues.

Keep me posted on how things go. I'm always here to help. Have a great day!

yeah, can't believe such a dumb thing hasn't been addressed.  Drives me crazy having to move off the register entry just to see the date it's been entered..

No, there are no settings in Windows that will correct the problem.  As mentioned in other answer, it must be a programming bug in how the register is displayed in QBD

Is anyone working on this problem?  I have hated this since it became an issue.  Windows default settings and screen resolution DOES NOT fix this.  The only thing I could do to fix it was change the setting in Preferences to show the year as 2 digits.  With it being 2020 we are being cautioned to print the year in 4 digits to avoid fraudulent changes to checks and other documents.  THIS REALLY NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. All it would take is either removing that tiny calendar or widening the column.  PLEASE fix this!  It seems silly that something so easily corrected (that so many people complain about) is just ignored.

Why is this marked "Solved"?  It's still broken.  None of the suggestions fix it.

Hi, @westriverproperties.

A response will be marked as solved if a user had marked that response as it fixed his/her concern. Nevertheless, it won't close the thread. I'm here to share with you some insights about the dates of the transactions on the QuickBooks Desktop register.

Usually, the date is visible and all complete on the register window. However, once you click on a specific transaction, the calendar icon will be displayed beside the Date section causing some digits to be removed. As a workaround, you can hover your mouse to the date to see all the details.

I can see how seamless it would be to view the complete date from there. Rest assured our engineers are working nonstop to deliver the best experiences for all QuickBooks users. For the time being, I recommend checking out our blog to stay current with the latest QuickBooks news and feature enhancements. Here's the link: Product Updates.

Moreover, you can open the topics from our help articles for more resources while working with QuickBooks in the future.

If you have any other follow-up questions about the QuickBooks register, please let me know by adding a comment below. I'm always here to help. Have a good one!
