Can't use a Quickbooks invitation link -it autofills/uneditable Username of old account (>8 yrs ago) assoc'd with email. Reset pw, then Quickbooks said it doesn't exist.

So, Quickbooks was able to email, and also text me auth code to change the pw on the old account (I don't recall whether it was an Online account or not). But when I log in with the new pw, it says: "Thank you for signing in! Unfortunately, there is no QuickBooks Online company or QuickBooks Accountant account associated with [old Username]." How can I 'unlink' my email address from that old, closed account to be able to accept an invitation to a new QB account? And if the old account does not exist, why does QB still have my email address and cell number on file for the old account, and allow me to change the pw?

Let me ease your confusion, 2c458c18c020.

Once an account is canceled, we keep your data for a year after the cancelation, before it'll be deleted permanently. Even if it's canceled already, your Intuit account is still associated with the email address. It is the reason why we have your email address or number on our records.

You can log in to your Intuit account and make some changes there. If you're unable to do so, you can reach out to our customer care support so you can unlink the email address. You can open the link I've provided and select the QuickBooks product (Online or Desktop).

Feel free to visit us if you have other concerns. We're just one post away. Take care!
