Congrats on making your first post in the Community, @faibl.

Let's work together and transfer your information from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop. It's easy as can be.

Step 1: Security Settings in Internet Explorer

        1. Right-click the Internet Explorer icon and choose to Run as administrator.

        2. Click the Tools icon, then Internet Options.

        3. Pick Security and then Trusted Sites.

        4. Select Sites.

        5. In the Add this website to the zone field, enter qbo.intuit.com.

        6. Uncheck the "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone" box.

        7. Close down the window of Trusted Sites.

        8. Uncheck the "Enable Protected Mode" box.

        9. Choose Apply, then Okay. Leave Internet Explorer open.

Step 2: Set up QuickBooks Desktop for the export

        1. Right-click of the QuickBooks Desktop icon. Select Run as administrator.

        2. Go to File and choose Close Company.

        3. Leave QuickBooks Desktop open.

Step 3: Prepare to export your QuickBooks Online data

         1. In your QuickBooks Online account, go to the Gear icon and pick Export Data.

         2. Enter your reason for exporting and select Continue.

         3. Press Learn More in the "Moving to QuickBooks Desktop" section.

         4. Hit Learn More in the "Download Company Data" section.

         5. Click Get Started.

         6. Install ActiveX Control Now.

         7. Choose to Continue once finished.

         8. Pick the data you want to export, then Continue.

         9. Review the limitations and select Continue.

         10. Enter your contact information and then Continue.

You'll receive an email when your data is ready. If you have many transactions it can take up to two hours.

Step 4: Finish Exporting

          1. Go to the Gear icon and choose Export Data. Repeat steps 2-5 above.

          2. Select Continue to download on the "Exporting from QuickBooks Online" page.

          3. Make sure you're on the "No Company Open" screen in QuickBooks Desktop.

          4. In QuickBooks Online, click Download.

          5. In the "Save your company file" window, pick a location to save the file.

          6. Press Convert Now.

          7. In the Create a new QuickBooks file window, give the file a name and select a location to save it in. Pick a location on your local computer and not a network or external drive.

          8. Select Finish.

It may take some time for this to process. It may even look frozen at times but it doesn't mean the export is done or failed.

Once your export is finished, you can verify that all of your company data came over by running a Profit and Loss report.

this brings up the gear but can not do anything with it.  This is awful.  Why not let a NOT dead browser handle this?  I know your IT people can do it. I now have to call and waste YOUR time.

That link is for destop  to online, which is not what anyone wants.

After performing the steps, we can run reports in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop to ensure your data was transferred correctly.

If you hit the wall when transfering the data from QBO to QBD, there are other 2 options:

1. Utilize the migration tools (i.e exporter for QBO and importer for QBD)
