Cash Basis Balance Sheet?

This seems like it should be a very basic thing to do, but I can't get my balance sheet to switch to cash basis.  My p and l is cash basis and I can switch it to accrual on the fly, but not on the balance sheet - it is only accrual.  I've even set up the default on statements to cash basis but the bs is still only in accrual.  Any ideas?  Thank you.

Cash Basis Balance Sheet?

Thank you for posting here in the Community, @Newbiearubie.

It's my pleasure to help you switch your Balance Sheet report into a cash basis of accounting method.

We can change Accrual to Cash Basis through the Accounting Method menu of your report. Let me show you how.

  1. Go to Reports at the left pane.
  2. Search for Balance Sheet in the search field.
  3. Under Accounting method, select Cash.
  4. Click Run Report to save the changes.
  5. You can also click on Customize beside Save customization and select Cash under Accounting method.
  6. Click Run report.

If the same thing happens, we can try using the basic troubleshooting steps and re-run the report with the desired accounting method. First, access your account using a private browser, you may use these following shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome, press CTRL  Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press CTRL  Shift P
  • Internet Explorer: press CTRL  Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

If you're able to change the accounting method using the private browser without any problem, you may need to clear the cache of your regular browser. You can also try using another supported browser to help us narrow down the cause of this unexpected behavior.

Please update me with the result by leaving a comment below. Have a good day!
