Change the master admin

I'll help you change your change master admin in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @hari2.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QBO as the current master admin.
  2. Click the Gear icon and select Manage Users.
  3. In the User Type column, check if the user you want is listed as Admin. If they’re not, select Edit to change them to an admin.
  4. Click the small arrow in the Action column to the right of the user. Then, select Make master admin.
  5. For security, we send a verification code to the phone number or email on file for your account. When you receive the verification code, enter it and click Continue.
  6. In the window, select Make master admin to confirm that you want to make the change.
  7. Go to back Settings ⚙ and click Sign Out to sign out as the current master admin.
  8. When the user gets the invitation email, ask them to select the link and accept the invitation.

You’re all set. The user is now the master admin for your QuickBooks account.

In case you need information about the different user types and levels of access in QBO, you can check out this article: User types in QBO.
