Changing an established Chart of Accounts account type from Credit Card to Expense?

In my chart of accounts, can I change (example: SBA Loan Payback) from its current "account type" as Credit card and "detail type" as Credit Card   TO: an expense account listing?

I receive a caution bubble telling me if I make the change my reporting could be affected. Will it??  Any help is appreciated!

Changing an established Chart of Accounts account type from Credit Card to Expense?

Hi there, renzoom2. Allow me to share details about changing your account type in the Chart of Accounts.

Yes, changing the account type will affect how transactions are categorized and reported, as well as your financial statements, such as profit and loss reports. Since your credit card transactions are posted in expenses.

Additionally, you can refer to this article to record, edit, and delete expenses in the program: Enter and manage expenses in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you happen to come across any challenges while modifying your account type, fill me in with the details and I'll help you fix them.
