I am a ProAdvisor and see the pricing for various discounts I can offer to my clients, though I don't see the place to sent a link to the client to take advantage of the discount. I am not talking about wholesale discounts. The client will pay for their own subscription of QBO.
It looks like they may have been on a trial that has expired, but not before I got connected as the accountant. I went into work on the file and saw the message that the trial has ended to the subscription expired.
Bottom line: How can I get them the discount through me?
Hello and welcome to the Community, @foenixtax.
Allow me to take a moment to thank and congratulate you for becoming a certified ProAdvisor, it's professionals like yourself that help make the QuickBooks family strong.
At this time, the only discounts available to existing users (including trial companies) are the wholesale discounts that you can provide as a QuickBooks Accountant user. If you're interested in subscribing them on your Accountant billing, we offer a detailed guide that will help you get started.
For future clients, there are referral links you can share before they sign up for a new company. Check out the discount page for further offer information, pricing details, and restrictions.
Feel free to reach out to me here with any additional questions or concerns, I want to make sure you're taken care of. Thanks for joining us in the Community, wishing you continued success.
Thank you for the warm welcome and kind words!
I understand what you are saying about wholesale billing, though if that's all that I can offer the clients, then why is there a big chart of 30% & 50% discounts for each QBO for each versioin of QBO with and without the two different payroll options (not with Wholesale
billing) on my ProAdvisor discounts page?
I don't want to pay for the clients, and risk them not paying me. I'm very disappointed to see these discount offers going away.
I have been messaging my client who has to reactivate her QBO subscription, and told her about the $10/month for Simple Start based on this chart in my ProAdvisor section.
It's my pleasure, @foenixtax.
The pricing options presented in the ProAdvisor discount table work primarily as "Buy It Now" specials. As detailed in the terms and conditions, the discount is only applicable if applied from the date of enrollment, so trial companies aren't applicable.
Of course, you always have the option to refer the client to create a new company using the referral link, and then cancelling the trial version. There's an awesome guide available on transferring the Chart of Accounts and lists to a new QuickBooks Online company if you choose to do this. However, keep in mind that transaction data will have to be re-entered or downloaded from the bank anew. This way your client can rack up savings on QuickBooks thanks to the help of their terrific ProAdvisor!
Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to help you succeed. Thanks again, and have a wonderful rest of your day.
With all due respect, NO WHERE does the discount page explain any of what you just said are the terms. The only words I see anywhere related are 'from enrollment'. Though it does not specifically say anything about trial companies not eligible. There's also no information to explain HOW to take advantage of these supposed discounts. Which was part of my original question. Even if the client was willing to start a new company, how would I pass on this discount to her?
By the way, the work done in the trial, that I'm not sure it was since it's been downloading bank transactions since June, makes the option of starting a new company SO Inefficient. This is extremely disappointing.
I hear ya, @foenixtax.
I've reached out to the appropriate team to get the ProAdvisor discount page updated to include the referral links. In order to utilize the discount, just follow the link that I've provided there, click Share Discount, and copy and paste the message into an email to the client. This will set them up with a special sign-up link for the new company they create.
Thank you again, it's feedback like this that empowers us to make QuickBooks the best software it can be.
