Converting from QBD to QBO - HELP shows that I need to open the "Company file" from the dropdown....there is no "dropdown"....now what????

I've updated my QBD - running 2019, there is no menu item for Export to QBO, so I went under Utilities, and created a Company File Copy for QBO....but when I log into QBO - there is no way to Import?....what now?

Let me share information with you about the process in converting your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) company file to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

To get your desktop file ready, you're right that your QBDT account must be updated to the latest release. Most importantly, you'll need to log in to QuickBooks as the Admin to complete the conversion. It could be that you're not log in as Admin, that is why the Export Company File to QuickBooks Online button is missing.

If you would like to take the easy way out, contact a 3rd party service provider who can do the conversion for you, if your data meets the requirements for an upload to QBO. Turnaround time is usually between 1-2 days.

Just to clarify, do you wish migrating your data from QBD US version to QBO US version, or else?

I am signed into  my account. while trying to create a family account I am not able to sign in.  I call the number for customer service and not able to reach a person to help resolve this problem.  I am signed into the business account but not able to then sign in to create a fam account what do I do???

I have quickbooks desktop.  Can I talk to a person to get this straightened out?  I can create a new sign in but it does not accept it so I am not able to reach help.

I'll share with you the steps on how you can log in to your other account. If you're using the same email address when setting up your Intuit accounts, you can run the QuickBooks File Doctor tool. This tool will help you in fixing company file issues, such as opening your company file. Let me walk you through how.

 

  1. Close QuickBooks. Then, download the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop). 
  2. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  4. When the install finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
  5. Select the Company File Issues tab, and then click QuickBooks File Doctor tool.
