Cross-reporting Between Companies?

We have three companies on QuickBooks Desktop that my employer wants to move to QuickBooks Online.  I understand that we'll need a new subscription for each company, and that they can be linked to the same log in credentials.  Will doing so allow for cross-reporting between the different companies?

Thanks!

Cross-reporting Between Companies?

Good afternoon, @cmambern

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I'd be glad to provide some insights into cross-reporting.

You can export the reports to Excel and combine them from all of the different companies there. You can refer to this article as it has further information with exporting reports: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.

For additional information on converting from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online, here are several articles you can refer back to as well:

At this time, QuickBooks Online doesn't offer a feature that allows you to cross-report from one account to another. Rest assured, I'm going to pass along your suggestion regarding this.

If you have any more questions or concerns, I'm always here to help. Have a safe and productive rest of your day!

If you have to open a new QBO account, make sure to click the Buy button to get the discounted price for up to 6 months. If you purchase from the trial account, you have to pay the regular rate.

You may export all reports to XLS and consolidate them as mentioned by Kendra H. Otherwise, consider having a 3rd party consolidating app.

Is this still true (that you can't run cross-company reports)? I'm hoping a new feature to allow for this has happened since this question was answered 3 years ago....

I understand how convenient it is to run cross-company reports in QuickBooks Online, BethR.

Yes, this feature is still unavailable in QBO. I recommend sending us feedback about it to help our product engineers enhance your experience with the software. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the right-top, then select Feedback.
  2. Type in your preference for running the data.
  3. Then hit Next to submit feedback.

In the meantime, you can export the reports to Excel and combine them from there, as Kendra H mentioned. Here's how:

  1. Open the Business overview and hit Reports.
  2. Look for and choose the report you want to export.
  3. Click on the Export beside the Print icon. Then tap Export to Excel.
  4. Save the file somewhere you can easily find, like your Downloads folder or your desktop.

Here are some helpful modules about moving your data from QuickBooks Desktop to QBO and learn more what feature are transferred or not:

@BethR_Ballentine

Do you need to consolidate your reports from multiple QBO accounts or else?
