Delate QBO datas after 60 days with QuickBooks Plus free trial

Here is the main idea of my case:

I practiced QBO as part of my schoolwork. The professor requested the creation of an online QBO account, the input of fake company information, and the running of a few payrolls. In a month, after completing all steps and submitting my homework, I received a letter from the Pennsylvania Unemployment Department asking me to register for a SUI account and pay taxes. As I explained to them, the company was not a real one, and all the data was inaccurate. Also, I would like to delete/cancel/reverse all data associated with my QBO account.

Three times I contacted QB support, all representatives went to the same circle.
  1. I used the free trial period for 7 days, then cancelled the account before the 7 days ended. My account was not purchase in QuickBooks
  2. Before it allows canceling/delaying an account, QBO system requests cancel all subscriptions
  3. According to the CS, QuickBooks Plus cannot be canceled by their end; it must be cancelled by its due date, which is 04/27/2025.???

Well, at this point, I am looking for any ideas to solve the problem that I entered some company data for homework and need to revise or delete them in QBO to avoid any tax liability in the future.

Thank you very much.

Delate QBO datas after 60 days with QuickBooks Plus free trial

Hi there, EHerb. I'm glad you got to experience utilizing QuickBooks Online (QBO) and completed your homework.

I acknowledge the efforts in contacting our Live Support Team to fix your queries about your QBO account. Let me provide some clarifications about your concerns.

Your QBO has to be less than 60 days old to delete all its data. After 60 days, you can't delete but cancel your subscription or trial. Accomplishing it depends on where you signed up for your account. If through a mobile app store, you need to perform it there.

Moreover, canceling your QuickBooks Plus trial doesn't remove the data immediately. The account remains in read-only mode for a year after the process. It's also correct that we're unable to delete your company data or cancel the account before the due date.

Since the company file is associated with a real unemployment account, you're doing right of contacting the Pennsylvania Unemployment Department to explain the situation. This way, they can remove the fake company information from their records and avoid any tax liability in the future.

As for the QBO account, you can either wait until the free trial expires in 2025 or individually delete the information you enter within the program.

You can also export all transactions or reports from the system and save them on your desktop folder to have a copy moving forward.

In addition, I've included this reference if you want to reactivate your QBO in the future: Resubscribe to QuickBooks Online.

Delate QBO datas after 60 days with QuickBooks Plus free trial

@EHerb  I'm sorry, but your professor is either a sadist or an incompetent. What professor in their right mind would try to make their students learn how QBO works, let alone make an assignment like this?

There is little chance that you're not going to end up paying money to resolve this situation. Even if Pennsylvania plays nice, I doubt QuickBooks will.

Hello Siriel,

Thank you very much for your time and for your explanation. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank you for your advice regarding the PA SUI Department. I knew how to solve this issue with the agency. However, your insights were very helpful and I'm glad I reached out. Thank you again for your help.

Having first-hand experience with QB and contact support will help me better understand how QB works and how they support customers. The experience I gained from using QB in the past has convinced me that I will not be using QB in the future.
