Does anyone know how to fix Memorized Reports that stop working?

We upgraded from QB Pro 6.0 to QB Premier 2016 with a pretty smooth transfer of the company file. Yesterday, our Memorized Reports stopped working (nothing happened when you clicked on them) so we did a file Rebuild.

It found 2 errors that could not be fixed. The first was Error (57) "Memorized Report recnum XXX was deleted" , and listed one line for each of our 41 reports.

The second was Error at line 1268 (56) "Memorized Report recnum XXX could not find formatting data. recnum XX -- This memorized report must be deleted."

We already tried the suggested fix in the article. We created a group of reports under "Z DO NOT USE". Then we created about 15 reports that were supposed to sit in the damaged slots so the new reports we created would move up into the undamaged slots.

We created our new reports, then did another rebuild, and got the message that no problems were found with our data. Our new reports worked fine and everything was the way it used to be except with these extra reports at the bottom of our list that we would simply ignore.

THEN, this morning, the reports stopped working again. We did rebuild and it deleted all of our reports again and gave us the same errors AGAIN!

What can we do to keep this from happening?

Try this delete the damaged reports, create 50 new reports and memorize them, then rebuild the data back to back 3 times, create a portable and restore that portable and see what happens.

Honestly, taking it through interim steps might not have prevented this. Your old data was from Before this was a relational database and just Tables. If you could have taken this file through QB 2007 or 2008, at least, then, perhaps 2012, and then 2016, and rebuilding in between, the Memorized Reports still might break.

You are lucky everything else seems to be working. This is like Dog Years. A computer lifecycle is 18 months, and QB is 3-years. You just came back from Time Travel!
