For now, QuickBooks Online doesn’t have a feature that can search using an address. However, we can use a phone number instead to search for the information you need.
If you want, you can also search the customers' addresses by pulling up the Customer Contact List.
Here’s how:
1. On the left navigation panel, click Reports.
2. In the search box at the upper right part of the screen, search Customer Contact List.
3. Click Customize.
4. Click Rows/Columns, then Change columns.
5. Look for the item labeled Billing Address, and check it.
6. Click Run report.
The page will automatically refresh, then you'll see the billing addresses of your customers.
Also, I recommend sending feedback straight to our engineers. This way, they'll know that this is something that you want to be added on our next product release. Just click on the Gear icon at the top right corner, and choose Feedback.
If you have any other questions, feel free to come back. The QuickBooks Community is always welcome to assist you.
Has this changed? It seems like a huge over site not to have this feature.
Hello, nicm.
Allow me to step in and share some information regarding the search feature in QuickBooks Online.
We haven’t added this feature yet. As a workaround, you can follow the steps provided by my peer above, or you can export the customer's lists into Excel and search the address from there.
Here's how:
We’re working on releasing new features soon. For product updates, you can check out our blog post for recent changes.
The following articles are good references. This will give you more information on how to search for a specific transaction, customer, and vendor name as well as searching custom fields in QuickBooks Online:
Filter, search, and sort with custom fields
If there's anything else I can help you with, please let me know. I'd be more than willing to lend you a hand.
This is a VERY important feature and a must to have. It is hard to comprehend that this was a complete over site when they did their last update. :(
HOLY F#^K,
How in the hell do you guys justify not having a search by EVERY FIELD let alone the address.
this program is absolutely shameful.
RUN A BLOODY REPORT IS YOUR ANSWER!!!
