downgrading subscription problem

Last week I contacted customer service to revert our subscription from advanced back to plus. They would not let me, saying I had over 250 chart of accounts. Which I do not. I was sent to a tech to help and we were not able to see any extra accounts. Including all hidden and deactivated accounts still did not cross 250. What is going on here? I am very frustrated. This does not seem honest.

downgrading subscription problem

Hello jeffconefry,

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! I will be delighted to assist you here in downgrading your subscription.  Once you find the plan you need, you may need to turn off these features in your current plan. These include:

  1. Pausing recurring transaction templates
  2. Removing extra users
  3. Reviewing multi-currency
  4. Turning off inventory

The step-by-step instructions can be found in this Downgrade your QuickBooks Online link.

From there, you can then downgrade your plan by following the steps below:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a primary or company admin.
  2. Go to Settings Settings gear icon., then Subscriptions and billing.
  3. Make sure your payment info is up to date.
  4. In the QuickBooks Online section, select Downgrade your plan.
  5. Review the available plans and then select Choose plan.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps to downgrade your plan.

Please let me know if you have additional questions or concerns! My team and I will be here to help. See you soon.

RE: They would not let me, saying I had over 250 chart of accounts.

250? Wow. QuickBooks Online is so incredibly feeble and weak!

QuickBooks Desktop, even the most basic version, has always (for 30 years) allowed 10,000 accounts.

downgrading subscription problem

Hi, I went through and turned off and deleted anything I could see in the back end. When I click to downgrade it still tells me to call intuit, but that is a waist of time if they tell me I still have too many chart of accounts which I do not. Please advise what else I can do to revert back to our old subscription. thx

@jeffconefry

Try to convert to QB Desktop and convert it back to QBO Plus. The results won't be the same but at least you can downgrade your plan.

For everyone with this same question. My first call with Intuit was terrible, sales pitches and poll questions, everything I did not want to deal with while I'm trying to get this done at work. I was just trying to go back to the plan I had for years after trying the upgrade to Advanced. I was told I couldn't revert back until I deleted some of my chart of accounts. She said she saw 270 entries on her end when my usage only showed 110. Whatever, so I was sent to a "tech" to help me resolve this. He couldn't see anything extra so I turned here with the same question. What a surprise I was told to call back. (waste my time) SO today I call back and what a surprise, everything was ready to go, they had me type in a secrete address, change "billing" to "changeplan" in the browse and low and behold I was able to change my plan. I can not tell you how dishonest this is. Beware when trying any upgrades.
