Email not working

Emailing forms from my 2019 QB Desktop has stopped working.  I use my gmail account with quickbooks.  After payroll last week, I went to email paystubs and was prompted with the following message:  "Sign in to continue to Quickbooks Desktop"  I would enter my email and select NEXT.  The next prompt would say "Couldn't sign you in"  

 

Please help!  I have the latest version and have also turned on the less secure apps for my email account.

Email not working

You have me to help you sign in to Gmail from QuickBooks Desktop, Matt21.

 

Due to some updates from Google, all Gmail accounts have to reconnect the account. Thus, giving you the Couldn't sign you in error message.

 

There are 3 ways on how we can fix this:

 

First, we'll have to set up 2-step verification for Google. Here's how you can do that:

 

  1. Turn on 2-step verification for your Google account.
  2. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
  3. Go to the Send Forms tab.
  4. Select Web Mail and Add.
  5. Fill in the Add Email Info field and then OK.
  6. Click OK to save your changes.

 

Second, we'll have to turn on less secure app access in Google. This helps your account safe since it helps to block sign-ins from other apps.

 

If you still get the same error, we can proceed to the third solution. We'll have to change the enhanced security setting in QuickBooks.
