You have me to help you sign in to Gmail from QuickBooks Desktop, Matt21.
Due to some updates from Google, all Gmail accounts have to reconnect the account. Thus, giving you the Couldn't sign you in error message.
There are 3 ways on how we can fix this:
First, we'll have to set up 2-step verification for Google. Here's how you can do that:
- Turn on 2-step verification for your Google account.
- From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
- Go to the Send Forms tab.
- Select Web Mail and Add.
- Fill in the Add Email Info field and then OK.
- Click OK to save your changes.
Second, we'll have to turn on less secure app access in Google. This helps your account safe since it helps to block sign-ins from other apps.
If you still get the same error, we can proceed to the third solution. We'll have to change the enhanced security setting in QuickBooks.
