After May 31, 2019, all add-on services, including payroll, will be discontinued. This includes all versions of QuickBooks Desktop 2016. For more information, I've got you the article: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation (Disco) policy and upgrade information.
With regards to your payroll, you're unable to add the new subscription to the current one. You'll have to cancel the current subscription, then activate the new payroll. To check if you can get a refund or credit, you'll have to get in touch with our payroll specialist. They can also help you with cancelling your account.
Here's how:
- Click Help inside QuickBooks.
- Go to QuickBooks Desktop Help.
- In the Have a Question? window, click Contact Us.
- Enter a brief description of your concern, then click Next.
- Choose either Message an Agent or Talk to a Specialist.
