Error when syncing American Express Account OL304

I have been trying for 2 weeks to update / sync my American Express Account. I continue to get Error message OL304. I have checked my account name and information and all appears correct. It was working previously.

Let's get your Online Banking working, Holly.


There are a few reasons why we encounter the OL errors. It could be:

  • a bank problem
  • the stability of your internet connection
  • there are damaged components in your company file
  • your QuickBooks version is one of the discontinued ones

Are you using QuickBooks Desktop 2017 and later?

  • If Yes, we can update it to the latest release version. You can use this link to do it: Update to the Latest Release of QuickBooks Desktop.
  • If No, I'd suggest upgrading to the supported versions (2017 and later). Discontinued versions no longer receive product updates and online services are disabled (such as online banking, sending transactions, and etc.). You can read more here about the discontinuation policy.

Then, we can do the Verify and Rebuild process. This will fix data issues in your company file.
