Essentials is advertised as $25/month so why am I being charged $40/month?

The discounted rate is $12.50/month. $25 is the regular.

Fiat Lux - ASIA is right. You'll have to pay the regular price once the discounted period is over. Please check out this article for more info: QuickBooks Online pricing.

However, since you're being overcharged, you can contact our support team. This way, they can check your account securely and provide you more details about it as mentioned by @Just_me.

Before doing so, please review our support hours to ensure your concern gets addressed on time. Once ready, here's how to get started:

1. Click the Help menu at the top part, and then select the Contact Us button.
2. Type your concern on the search box like "Why I'm being overcharged?", and then click Let's Talk once done.
3. Choose either Message an Agent or Get a Call.
4. Fill out the necessary fields, and then hit Send message or Confirm my Call to continue.
   
   
   

Also, you'll want to use the same log-in info for multiple companies so you can easily switch between them.
