Estimates and Invoices

How do I turn off the Available Estimates pop up box when I'm creating invoices? We have several businesses that we do both bid work and time and material work for an it is annoying when the box pops up every time I try to create an invoice.

Thanks for posting here, @Kirsten26,

Joining the thread to share some insights about the estimates pop-up in QuickBooks Desktop.

Regardless if you enabled progress invoicing or not, it is a default function in QuickBooks to show available estimates. This preference comes up, when you clicked "Yes" under "Do you create estimate?".

The option to turn this off is currently unavailable at the moment. Please know that we take your feedback seriously and our engineers are working hard towards this goal. We can't provide the turnaround time if they will release product updates soon. They work on program enhancements internally.

Despite that, we want to make sure your voice to be heard and be put in action. If you have any product suggestions to our developers about our report preferences, go to the Help menu and select Send Feedback Online.

If you need anything else, please let me know in the comment. I'll be more than happy to share some help with you with estimates and sales. Have a good one!

Estimates and Invoices

Greetings, @Kirsten26

It's great to see a new face here in the Community. Allow me to give you some more information.

One of the reasons why this may be occurring is due to progress invoicing being turned on. Don't worry. It only takes a few easy steps to turn this feature off. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Edit menu.
  2. Choose the Preferences option.
  3. Press the Jobs & Estimates tab.
  4. Hit the Company Preferences section.
  5. Click the bubble next to No in the "Do you do progress invoicing?" area.
  6. Tap OK when finished.

That's all there is to it! For future reference, check out this article: Receive and process payments in QuickBooks Desktop

You can always drop your comment below if you have other concerns. I'll do my best to help you.

Shoot, that didn't work. It was already set to no.
