Every time I try to open a new tab it takes me back to the sign in window and I only have that tab.

We can perform some troubleshooting steps so you can successfully open a new tab. 

 

To start with, let's use a private browser or incognito window since it doesn't store cache files. This is a recommended way to check if this is a browser-related issue. 

 

For Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer, you can press CTRL + Shift + P on your keyboard. For Google Chrome, hit CTRL + Shift + N. Press Command + Shift + N if you’re using Safari.

 

If you can open a new tab on a private browser, go back to your regular browser. Then, clear its cache since it helps your browser to function efficiently. If private browsing doesn’t work, you can use another browser.

 

Just to verify, are you using the desktop app of QuickBooks Online (QBO)? If so, our product engineers are aware on this issue about users being took back to the log in window when opening a new tab. They are actively working in getting a permanent resolution. 

 

As a workaround, you can access your QBO account through a supported web browser. 


I want to make sure you’re in the loop about the issue's status, so I suggest reaching out to our Customer Care Team. They have to collect your account details so they can add your company to the list of affected users. Here's how: 

  1. Go to the Help menu at the upper right. 
  2. Select Contact usQBOContactUs.PNG
  3. Enter your concern, then click Let's talk
  4. Choose a way to connect with a live support agent.
