Join nowExcel crashes each time I export reports out of QB. Only been doing this since Windows 10 roll out. I can't roll back my version, as I this is a new laptop, and it's the only version that came with it. Been quite frustrating having excel AND Quick-books crash when exporting to Excel. The worst part is when it does work, it creates this blank Excel page (no grid or worksheet, just a grey background), and if I close it, it closes the ENTIRE program of Excel and all of my open workbooks.. there is no options to keep one workbook open over another, the entire program closes. Im sorry, but that sounds alot like it's not compatible with Windows 10 or Excel 2016, can't quite tell which one is the problem child at this point. If I use my old desktop computer with Windows 7, it works with out ever crashing, or having issues with Excel. I have Windows 10, Office 2016 and Quickbooks pro 2016. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi there chickiebarnes80,
Thanks for posting.

Wow, I am currently in the year 2020 and this has still not been resolved?? Have QuickBooks engineers continuously worked on this for years to no avail or have they just decided it's best to no longer keep up with the times? Please let me know if that is the case so I can make the move toward another accounting solution.
Chiming in to share details of the QuickBooks Desktop software compatibility, amberanderson.
The Microsoft Excel 2016, 2013, or 2010 SP2 or Office 365 are supported in QuickBooks Desktop 2020. If you're using any of these, rest assured that you can export your reports smoothly.

Hey AlexV,
Thanks for your response but unfortunately that is not the case. I've had trouble with my reports for several months now and I've been told by your company that they are 'still working' on the issue and I have been 'added to the current case' and they will contact me 'as soon as they find a fix' but that has yet to happen. This is an issue with my scheduled reports as well. I am running Windows 10 with Microsoft 365 and Quickbooks Enterprise 20. Apparently the three are not compatible so I just wait..........
Hi there, @amberanderson.
This issue about the compatibilities of Windows 10 with Microsoft 365 and QuickBooks Enterprise 20 has already been acknowledged by our product engineers. They are working diligently to fix this.
You will be notified whenever they come up with a fix through e-mail.
As of the moment, you can export your reports by using the Microsoft Excel 2016, 2013, or 2010 SP2 or Office 365 because they are supported in QuickBooks Desktop 2020.
We appreciate your patience in this matter. Feel free to let us know here if you have questions in mind. I’ll get back to help you out. Take care.
@MarsStephanieLWhat is the status of this? I have several Quickbooks 2020 servers out there having this issue with Office 2016, Office 2019, and Office 365 click to run versions. What is the FIX???!!! This is a huge deal and cannot find a viable solution. Please don't just say that the are compatible. While that may be, this particular work flow of exporting to Excel from within Quickbooks is broke broke broken and completely locks up the session. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi there, Moses4997.
The issue with Office 2016, Office 2019, and Office 365 has been reported as resolved. Since you still encountered an issue in the flow of exporting to Excel from within Quickbooks, I suggest making sure your version of QuickBooks is up-to-date.
If it's already updated and the problem persists, you'll need to check the system requirements for your version of QuickBooks: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020. If your version of Microsoft Office isn't compatible, you'll have to upgrade this office. If it's compatible, follow the steps from Microsoft to repair Microsoft Office. And, then go back into QuickBooks and start exporting.
If the steps above didn't work, you can refer to this article and start following step four: Fix export to Excel issues in QuickBooks Desktop. This contains additional troubleshooting to fix the issue.
I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support Team if the problem continues to occur. They have the tools to pull your account and investigate the cause of the issue.
Please check this article to see the new features offers in using QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Premier 2020 and Enterprise 20.0: What’s new in QuickBooks Desktop 2020.
