Hello, maybe you can help me also? I have been threw the reset password screen at least 5 times and I complete the process, even receive a popup window acknowledging that the password was changed successfully and then I go to sign in and it takes me back to the beginning? It asks for the current password (that I just changed?) and says that it is not the current password and it says not to use the last 4 well I'm running out of passwords and patience. I am so incredibly annoyed. I could scream. Any suggestions or do i call support? Thank you so much. I hope you can help.
I completely understand what you're going through, @MOMMYMAC60. I'm here to help you reset your password so you can get back to business.
There are two types of passwords in QuickBooks that you'll need to know. Let's first identify if it's an admin or the user password you'll need to reset so you can change it successfully.
You need to reset the admin password if you don’t have to enter a user name. When you sign in, you only enter a password. And if your User Name is “Admin” or another admin user name you've created.
However, if you’re not an admin user, your QuickBooks admin can reset your password for you. I'd suggest you contact your admin and ask him/her to follow the steps in the "Reset a user password" section outlined in this help article: Reset your password for QuickBooks Desktop.
