Getting endless Captcha prompts during a Quickbooks export from Desktop to Quickbooks Online

I am upgrading from Quickbooks Desktop 2012 to Quickbooks Online. After the export you have to sign in to Quickbooks online. I have created the new account and when I supply the User ID and Password I get the Captcha challenge to prove I am not a bot. It never ends - I am in a endless set of Captcha challenges.

Have you tried open it on incognito/private browser?

Getting endless Captcha prompts during a Quickbooks export from Desktop to Quickbooks Online

Hi there, @office-livinghop.

CAPTCHA helps prevent any spam and abuse from websites. It's an added security feature for web browser applications, like QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You're prompted with a CAPTCHA and security code if it's your first instance logging in to your QuickBooks account with different devices. Thus, you won't be prompted to validate your access again on your next visit.

In the meantime, we can start by accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

If it's responsive, I recommend that you clear it's cache. By clearing the browser's cache, you can remove that historical data and access QuickBooks with a clean slate.

Additionally, when you've got your data exported to QBO, you can check out our guide on what to do after converting from QBDT to QBO.

Please know that the Community is just around the corner to help you with any QuickBooks concern. Don't hesitate to post any questions you may have. Thanks for coming
