Has anyone experienced missing cash flow menu on new account?

Major Issue with cash flow menu and new accounts partially solved. I opened several free accounts until I found the combination that would give me the cash flow menu and also showed all the rest of the options that other accounts had such as business overview.

The only service option that had the cash flow menu was Quick Books Online Plus aka QBO Plus subscription. I also selected sole proprietor as company type which I was later able to change.

I am now approved for Payments and Quickbooks Cash!

P.S. You need cash flow menu not widget to be able to apply for Quickbooks Cash Checking Account and debit card.

We can perform a few browser troubleshooting steps, cristina-moldnea.

It's possible that a browser-related issue has caused unexpected behavior with the Cash Flow menu missing on the left panel. Log in to QuickBooks Online using a private browser and then look into the Cash Flow menu. If you're able to see the option, you can switch back to the main browser and clear the cache. You can also use other supported browsers to access QBO to get rid of these kinds of issues.

Let me know how this works. Take care!

No, it's not a browser issue, I tried clearing everything and different browsers. This is a new account. Never have we used QBO.

Either this is an error with QBO, the account has not been provisioned correctly, how do I get the account reprovisioned? Or do you not have cash flow menu not available for QBO simple start?

The Cash Flow menu is available in QuickBooks Simple Start, @cristina-moldnea.

You'll just have to perform a few tweaks to enable the said feature. I can share the needed steps to ensure your success.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Choose QuickBooks labs under the Your Company section.
  3. Select the Cash Flow Dashboard Widget radio button to enable it.
  4. Click Done.

After that, log out and then sign in again to your company to refresh and apply the changes. Then, go to your Dashboard and select the Business overview section to view the cash flow menu.

When you're ready, you can sign up or link your account to begin tracking the money coming in and out of your business. This way, you can review the said info on your Cash Flow menu. For more details, please check out this handy article: Get started with the Cash Flow menu.

I've got your back if you have additional questions about managing your cash flows in QuickBooks. Just add your reply in the comment section so I can assist you further.

Thank you for your help although this just enabled the cash flow widget. This was always there.

What I dont have is the cash flow tab or menu item on the left under sales and before payroll, or reports for those who don't have payroll.

Please see picture for what I am missing. Also called support and they were not able to help.

I appreciate for adding more information about your concern, cristina-moldnea.

The Cash Flow menu is available on most current QuickBooks Online users. If it’s not showing on your end, we’ll notify you when it’s available.

However, if this is a new account, we’ll have to determine why the Cash Flow menu is missing. To accomplish this task, I have to collate sensitive data to access your account.

The safety of your information is our top priority, so I recommend contacting our QBO Care Team. They can review the setup of the company in a secure space. Once the solution is available, our specialists will assist in applying the permanent fix.

To reach them:

  1. Go to the Help icon at the top to display the QB Assistant window.
  2. Press the Talk to a human menu and enter the issue/topic.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
  4. Choose Message an agent for real-time assistance or Get a callback.

For future reference, the following resources provide an overview of how the Cash Flow can help you manage the money coming in and going out of your business.

You can always get back to this thread if you have questions about QuickBooks. I’ll be around to answer them for you. Have a good one.

Has anyone experienced missing cash flow menu on new account?

I am a QBOA user with various types of client subscriptions (Plus, Essential, Simple Start etc).  I added the cash flow widget via QBO labs in a client's Plus account but do not have a cash flow menu item.  I called QuickBooks and was told only the master admin can access the cash flow menu and planner.  Why would the accountant not have access to a cash flow planning feature??

I’m here to provide information about access rights to the cash flow menu and planner, @Tammy The Tiger.

At the moment, only the master administrator of the QBO account has access rights to this cash flow planning feature. You may consider working with your client for any information needed concerning cash flow.

While we continue to make improvements, I want you to be updated with the latest QuickBooks news and product features through our QuickBooks blog site.

Here are some helpful resources that you can check out about the said feature:

Has anyone experienced missing cash flow menu on new account?

We were approved for QB Cash + Envelopes back in October of 2020, at first we had the cash flow tab available, but it would just say it is coming soon. Then a few weeks ago the cash flow tab completely disappeared, and no one that I have spoken to with QB has been able to give me any help with this.

I’ve got you covered, @tea96.

Thanks for alerting us. Have you tried clearing your browser cache?

The online platform uses the browser’s cache to run faster. However, these can sometimes become corrupted, which affects the platform's functionalities.

If you haven’t done it yet, you can follow these instructions so the Cash Flow feature will get back. Start by accessing your QuickBooks account in a private or incognito window for testing. You can refer to the shortcut keys I've listed below:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P

Once you're in, check if the option appears in the left pane. If it shows up, go back to your main browser and then clear its cache to start fresh. You can also use other supported browsers as an alternative.

Here’s a reference that provides depth information on how to manage cash follow in QuickBooks. This includes tips and details on what causes cash flow issues. You can also refer to the resources I've attached above to get started and track cash flow.

Don't hold back to drop a comment below if you have additional concerns or questions about cash flow. I’m determined to help you out. Take care!
