Have error to downgrade plan

We can get through with this together, ah-harmony-homes.

Error can occurs when downgrading your plan if there are turned on feature available only in your current plan. Connected third-party apps can cause this error, too.

To get rid of the error and downgrade your plan successfully, we'd recommend turning off these features or disconnect the third party apps temporarily. You can see the detailed steps in this article on how to complete the process: Downgrade your QuickBooks Online plan.

After changing your plan, you can go back to your regular QuickBooks Online activities.

Let us know how this goes so we can further assist you. Have a great day!

Have error to downgrade plan

My plan is Simple Start and I tried to downgrade to Self-Employed. It seems I cannot do this downgrade simply because it is not doable?

Have error to downgrade plan

I appreciate your time getting back here, ah-harmony-homes.

The QuickBooks Self-Employed version has a different platform than other versions of QuickBooks Online. This is why you're unable to downgrade the product.

What you can do is sign up to a QuickBooks Self-Employed account by following these steps:

  1. Go to this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/au/self-employed/
  2. Scroll down at the bottom and select Buy now or FREE 30-day trial.
  3. Enter the email address, first and last name.
  4. Click Sign Up or Start Free Trial

For more details about QuickBooks Self-Employed, here's an article: QuickBooks Self-Employed Overview.

To keep a record of your QuickBooks Online Simple Start data, you can export the reports and lists to Excel. You can find the instructions here: Export reports, lists, and more.

If you want to cancel the Simple Start account, you can follow the steps here: Cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription or trial.

Please let me know in the comments if you have any follow-up questions about QuickBooks Self-Employed. I'll be around to help you some more. Take care and stay safe.

Have error to downgrade plan

We get an error message when trying to downgrade to Quickbook Simple Start. I have followed all the steps mentioned in the Help, and was prompt to this step:

After I clicked 'Make inactive', I got the following - what shall I do?

Thanks for adding screenshots for additional details, @JennaDz.

It's possible this could have something to do with temporary internet files.

I'd recommend checking your browser. Browsing applications store these types of records, but sometimes they can cause issues and error. You can open a private window and check to see if you're getting the same error.

Here's how to access incognito mode:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option + N

If that works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Otherwise, open an alternative browser that's available for you.

Then, you can use this article to manage your QuickBooks plan to add more or have fewer accounting features: Upgrade or Downgrade your QuickBooks Online subscription.

Let me know how it goes on your end. I'll be around to help anytime. Take care, JennaDzd.
