How can I add time entries for separate jobs with separate pay rates over the course of 2 weeks or 1 month in the app?

Let me share some information about time tracking in QuickBooks Online. 


You must first be invited to use QuickBooks Online as a time tracking only user.

 

Once done, you can already add time. Here's how:

 

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online using a mobile or web browser.
  2. Choose Add time.
  3. Select a day you want to enter time on.
    • If needed, change your week view by selecting This week, and choosing which week you’d like to view from the dropdown, or choosing custom dates.
  4. Enter total hours, or select Start/end times to add start and end times.
  5. Tap Add work details to track specific items for that timesheet, like customers and service items. Select Done.

Thank you for this information Abigail!  It helped me be able to add time entries online in Quickbooks.  However, I am not seeing the ability to track time in the app.  Is that a possibility?

 

My business provides a service to different customers, and the rates vary by customer.  What I'm hoping to do is to keep up with my billable hours for different customers and service dates.  Then I would like to be able to be able to generate an invoice for the customer that includes the time sheet entries. But I would prefer to be able to enter all of the time entries from the app.  I don't get onto my laptop too often.  Does the app have the time entry functionality?

I'm here to share additional information about adding time entries from the mobile app.

 

The function to add time entries through the mobile app is currently unavailable. That would be a great addition to the current features that we have, so I’ll take note of it.

 

In the meantime, I suggest reaching out to an accountant on how to handle these expenses. 

 

I also encourage you to leave feedback from within the product. Here are the steps:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.
  2. Provide your product suggestion.
  3. Click on Next to submit feedback.
