How can I create a backup of my company file for QBO 2020?

You can not, there is no user back up for QBO.  Intuit backs up the system daily but can not restore your file.

in the app center are "back up" subscriptions you can pay for, they take a snap shot of your data that you can restore from

How can I create a backup of my company file for QBO 2020?

Thanks for reaching out to QuickBooks Community, @userrb.

I've got some info with regards to creating a backup in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In QBO Advanced subscription, you can save online backups of your accounting data. This will help you save everything on your Chart of Accounts.

To back up your QBO Advance account, follow these steps:

First, turn on the automatic backups

  1. Sign in to the QuickBooks Online Advanced company you want to back up as an admin.
  2. Go to Settings and select Back up company.
  3. Click Add a Company.
  4. Select the company you want to connect with and follow the onscreen steps to connect to the app.
  5. Once your company is connected, select Enable backup.

After you add your company file, your data will be backed up automatically every 5 - 10 minutes once you make new changes. It also runs daily scheduled backups.

Once done, follow steps 2 and 3 outlined in this article: Back up and restore your QuickBooks Online Advanced company.

For now, this feature is only available for this subscription. However, you can still export your QBO reports and lists if you subscribe to a different one. Just make sure to save your file in a location where you can easily find it.
