How can I reactivate PR? Paid subscription, managed service key in PR service, ran PRupdates&setup, restarted QBs & still shows I need to reactivate?

Hi there, @k-aune.

Thank you for followig the steps provided by colleague, @katherinejoyceO on your previous post. Since you've done the troubleshooting steps for this, I suggest contacting QuickBooks Care team to verify and perform a screen share to see what has caused this issue.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. In your QuickBooks Desktop company, go to the Help menu.
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help of simply press F1 on your keyboard.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions and confirm.

You can also use this link to contact support if you are not on your desktop. Also, the support hours has been changed due to limited staffing during this situation. Our new support hours is from Monday to Friday 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Pacific Time.

Please let me know if you need anything else. I'll be here to assist you.

I have not received a response from anyone who could help me with resolution.  I did get a response but that person says they only work with QBooks Payroll online and did not redirect me or provide any assistance.  It's like chasing the wind......

I have reached out to QBs via F1/Help menu and have not gotten any response.  I have no resolution to fix this problem nor understand why it happened.

I am happy to post that I received a phone call and walk through to correct the problem.  We uninstalled and then reinstalled QBs Desktop Pro 2018 in order to correct the issue.

I feel the same way, I paid my renewal fee and the activation Key is still red.  I have spent over 7 hours now and it is still not resolved.

We'll have to delete the Paysub.ini file, 755209.

It is one of the application files. Once it's damaged, it can cause issues the same as you're encountering right now.

I'll guide you on how to delete it:

  1. Display hidden files or folders
  2. In the Search field, type Paysub.ini.
  3. Once you see the Paysub.ini file, right-click, then select Delete.
  4. Repeat the same steps until all Paysub.ini files are deleted.

Then, let's get the latest payroll update. It is to ensure you've downloaded the latest tax updates or rates.

Let me add this article on how to resolve a problem verifying your payroll subscription for future reference.

Feel free to get back to this thread after trying the steps. We're just one comment away.
