How can I separate two QuickBooks Online companies (accounts) setup with one user ID/sign in, so that each company has it's own separate user ID/sign in?

I want to change the user ID of one of the companies, so that each company has separate sets of credentials to sign in.

Hello,

If they are both SimpleStart accounts, you need to upgrade 1 to Essentials and then add a 2nd user to that file.

When the person gets that invite email, it will prompt them to create a new Intuit ID.  This will allow that file to have 2 users.  Log back into the file with the original user and transfer the Master Admin role to the user with the new ID you just created.  Click the email it sends to accept the Master Admin role and then login.

Then go to Manage Users and remove the original user from the file.  Now downgrade the subscription back down to SimpleStart.

If one of the accounts is Essentials or higher, there is no need to upgrade/downgrade.  Just go through the process I described above of adding a 2nd user and then transferring the Master Admin role to that user and removing the original user.

Hi

I have 2 companies ABC and XYZ. I log in with [email address removed].

It takes me to "Please select the company you want to open"

ABC

XYZ.

I want to log in to XYZ company using [email address removed]

and ABC company using [email address removed]

Please suggest how I can do that?

Hello,

Please see the above solution.  It requires you to add another user with the different email address and then log in with that new company admin user and remove the old user.  Just make sure to transfer the Master Admin role to the new user before you delete the old one.
