Thanks for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I’m here to share some insights on canceling payroll subscription in QuickBooks Desktop.
Intuit’s payroll service has an automatic renewable process. If you think you no longer need to create a paycheck, print W-2s for the year-end and create quarterly 941/state forms, you can cancel that auto-renewal feature.
There are 3 ways to cancel your payroll service. Option 1: Cancel your payroll service in QuickBooks Desktop 1. Go to the Employees menu and select My Payroll Service. 2. Click on the Account/Billing Info tab. 3. Sign in using your Intuit Account login. 4. After logging in, The Account Maintenance page will open. 5. In the Service Information section, click the Cancel link.
Option 2: Submit an online request to cancel the service 1. Access the Online Cancelation Form. 2. Select a reason why you want to cancel the subscription, and then click Continue. 3. Enter company name and FEIN then click Continue. 4. Provide the date of final payroll checks and again click Continue. 5. Enter the below-mentioned information that is also required.
Name of the contact: The name of your company’s Primary Principal or Payroll Administrator.
Email Address: The confirmation of cancellation is sent to this email address within 3 business days.
6. Tap on the Submit Request.
Option 3: Cancel payroll subscription online 1. Go to Intuit Account and log in using your Intuit credentials. 2. Under the Products & Services, click the Payroll Subscription that you are canceling. 3. Click on the Cancel Service link below the status shown on the upper right corner of the page. 4. Select a cancel reason. 5. Select among the options on how you want to cancel your payroll subscription.
Option 1: Cancel Now – payroll will be canceled immediately.
Option 2: Cancel on Next Billing Date – You’ll be able to consume the period that the service has been paid for but the service will not auto-renew. You’ll receive an email confirming the service has been set to expire.
Please know that if you’re canceling within 60 days from the time you purchase the subscription, you’ll be able to cancel it immediately and get a refund. However, if the subscription is more than 60 days from the initial purchase date, you’ll only be able to cancel auto renewal and continue to use your subscription until it expires.
