How do I change register view?

Dumb question.  Somehow I have changed my check register to a list view.  It no longer looks like a ledger.  I don't know how I did that so I obviously don't know how to change it back.  Can somebody please tell me how to change it back.  Thanks in advance for your help.

My questions is along this same line.  I have a loan register that opens as a 2-line register.  I always have to check the 1-line box to get the view I prefer.  How can I make it remember to always open as the 1-line view?

Re: How do I change register view?

In Quickbooks online, you go to any register and click on the small gear on the top right of the register, check the box or uncheck the box "Paper Ledger Mode". This will set the View to either Date at the top or Date at the bottom. Next, check the box or Uncheck the box "Show in one line" this will give you the old style check register of a single line view. These are Global changes all registers will look the same if you do this at any of the small gears.

Re: How do I change register view?

I have a similar question.  I am on QB Premier 2018 Accountant version hosted by Right Networks online.  I used to be able to change the account color easily but the option to do that is no longer there.  Can anyone help?

Welcome to the Community, @Mary-Kay.

If you are referring on how to change the account color in the view register, make sure that you're in the view register page so that you can be able to see that option.

Here's how to update the color:

  1. Go to the List button, select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Double click the account, then hit Edit in the upper right hand.
  3. Choose Change Account color and choose the desired color.

If you are referring to change the Desktop Color of QuickBooks file, here's how:

  1. Click Edit, then choose Preference.
  2. Select Desktop View.
  3. In the Company file color scheme drop-down arrow, choose the wanted color.
  4. Hit OK.

However, if you are still unable to see the option, let's open a sample file and check if the option is showing. Simply click the File icon, then hit Close company and choose a sample file

If this fixes the error, let's Rebuild your company to eliminate any issues you've encounter.

Here's how:

  1. From the File menu in the upper right corner.
  2. Select Utilities and choose Rebuild data.
  3. Click OK to confirm.
