Re: How do I change User Type if no drop down menu appears?

Good afternoon, ck12.

You've come to the right place for assistance with QuickBooks. I'd be glad to help you with changing the type for one of the users.

Just to make sure, are you currently the Master or Company Administrator of the account? It's necessary to be one of these two roles to complete a user change within the system.

I've got an article for you that outlines the process to modify a user type. You can view it by following this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/manage-users/add-and-manage-custom-users/00/186731.

Additionally, if you are the Master or Company Admin and still unable to go further in the steps to change a user, you may need to clear the cache in your web browser. Systematic issues can be related to the cache being full of older data. Clearing it will get everything back up and running at optimum performance. For example, if you're using Chrome, these steps will walk you through the clearing process:

1. Click the three vertical dots in the top right corner.

2. Select History, then History once more.

3. Choose Clear browsing data.
4. Change the Time Range to All Time.

5. Only check Cached images and files.

6. Select Clear Data.

If you're using a different browser, this article provides similar steps to get this done: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Getting-Started/How-do-I-clear-my-browser-cache-and-temporar....

Please let me know if you're able to edit the user type after giving this a try. I'm only a post or comment away if you need assistance with anything else.
