Allow me to share some information about creating and locating files in QuickBooks.
If you’ve successfully exported the file from QuickBooks Online to the Desktop version, you can locate it on your folder. Otherwise, you’ll need to create a new one.
The data you have been moved isn’t displayed on the home page. You’ll want to go to the location where your file is currently saved.
Just a heads-up, there are some information that may not be included during the moving process. You may check out this link for additional insights about the limitations.
To export QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop, here are the detailed steps: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/import-or-export-data-files/export-and-convert-you....
Once done, please run a Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet report to make sure your books match. Your accounting method must be set to Accrual and reports set to All Dates to compare them properly.

Good day~
I greatly appreciate the step-by-step instructions! I was doing well until I got to the Download company data step that requires Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 11 (32-bit) or earlier. I tried purchasing Windows 7. but cannot get it successfully installed on my computer. Is there any way to get past this step with Internet Explorer 11 and Windows 10?
Many thanks!

Thank you for following the steps, hfcharles.
You can only export the file using Internet Explorer. However, since this is no longer supported, you encountered an error. I suggest contacting QuickBooks Online support. They will be able to provide another option for you to export your company file.
Here's how:
Let me know if you have any other concerns. I'll be around to help you out.
If you still hit the wall, you may have other options:
1. Utilize a 3rd party migration tool. i.e TPExporter for Online, TPImporter for Desktop.

2. Purchase a 3rd party conversion service.
