How do I delete a reconciliation report. My only option is print when i click the drop down. What gives?

Hi mrkingcasey,

The undo feature is currently not available in the regular versions of QuickBooks. You can, however, do it manually by following these steps:

  1. On the left panel, Click Accounting.
  2. Choose Chart of Accounts.
  3. Find the account and click the View Register/Account History link under the Action column.
  4. Find the transactions you want to un-reconcile.
  5. Go to the Reconcile status column (indicated by a check mark).
  6. If it was originally shows R, click once and it will go back to blank. (C=cleared, R=reconciled, and blank= none of the above).
  7. Select Save once the transaction/s show the desired status.

If you've invited an accountant in your account, then you can have them undo the reconciliation.

Here's an article for more information: Undo a Reconciliation Using QuickBooks Online Accountant.

I tried this but the old report is still there. It never disappeared after setting the Reconcile Status as blank for the previously reconciled transactions. I was able to create a new report when I did another reconciliation but the old report still remains with a non-zero balance! There doesn't seem to be a way to delete it, mark it as void, etc.

Hi Capt_KS,

You'll want to undo the first and second reconciliation statement by opening each transaction, then remove the reconciled status. Let me walk you through how.

  1. Go to the Accounting menu. Then select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Find the account and select View register
  3. Select the transaction you want to unreconcile.
  4. Review the check column. If the transaction is reconciled, you’ll see an “R.”
  5. Select the box and keep clicking it until the box is blank. This removes the transaction from the reconciliation.
  6. Click Save. Then close your register.

Once done, reconcile the transactions again so it will only show one statement or report.

For future reference, In case you want to view your reconciliation, you can run a report: How Do I View, Print, or Export A Reconciliation Report?
