How do I generate a report (custom?) that shows only expenses I select? All vendors have more than one transaction but I only need monthly recurring expenses reported.

Most vendors have expenses for hardware, set up, etc along with a monthly, recurring subscription cost.  How do I generate a report only selecting the recurring costs?

I'd be delighted to help you generate a report that shows only expense via QuickBooks Online.

 

Generating a report for the expense by the recurring transactions only is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. However, if the expense is created by the affected accounts by recurring transactions you can run and pull up the Transactions List by Vendor.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. In the left panel, click Reports.
  2. Search and select Transaction List by Vendor.
  3. Customize the report.
  4. Hit Run report.

Thanks for the reply.  I am using qbo but still can't seem to get only the recurring expenses each month per vendor.  Is there not a way to manually select (with a check box maybe?) only those expenses I want to use to generate the report and ultimately export to .xls?

If you wish to generate a report for a specific recurring expense transaction, this is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online. However, you can customize the report if you use a specific account for your recurring transaction.
