How do I get my accounts in the GL report that have credit balances to be reflected with a negative sign?

Hello there, @sgrant,

If you're referring to the Balance column to show a negative sign for credits, this option is currently unavailable in our program. This section shows the trend of how the account balance increases or decreases over time.

The system only put negative signs in the Amount column to show if the transaction is a reduction to the account's remaining balance. As a workaround, you may export the report to Excel and manually add the information you want to see on the General Ledger.

To export a report from QBO, follow the steps below:

  1. Open a General Ledger report.
  2. Locate and click the Export icon on the report.
  3. Select Export to Excel.

I'm also enclosing here an article just in case you want to customize reports in QBO before exporting: Customizing Reports in QBO.
