Hello there, Mail4val63!
I’m sorry to hear about the situation with your account. Let me help clarify why this happened and explain the options available to you.
When you upgrade to QuickBooks Online Advanced from QuickBooks Self-Employed, your QBSE account is not deleted but rather canceled. This happens because QBSE and QuickBooks Online are built on entirely separate platforms, and it’s not possible to switch back to QBSE after upgrading. This process helps avoid double billing and ensures a smoother transition.
However, Intuit provides access to your old QBSE data for one year after cancellation. During this time, you can log in to review and export reports from QBSE, though you won’t be able to add new data.
Here’s how you can access your QBSE account:
- Log in to QuickBooks Online and click the Gear icon.
- Select Switch Company under the Profile section.
- In the list of accounts, locate your QuickBooks Self-Employed account. It should appear with all your 2025 transactions marked as "Canceled" or "Inactive."
If you don’t see your QBSE account listed you can directly log in your account to this link: selfemployed.intuit.com/home
