Good day, @valik.
Thank you for choosing QuickBooks as your accounting partner. I can help you order the free card reader from the GoPayment app.
You'll have to open your GoPayment app and select the version you're using.
For Blue GoPay users, follow the steps below:
If you're using the Green GoPay, here's how:
After placing the order, please check your email to get the order tracking number. You'll have to wait for 5-7 business days to receive it.
That should point you to the right track, valik. For your reference, please refer to this article: Order a GoPayment card reader. Aside from the GoPayment App, you can also order the card reader from our website or in the Merchant Service Center.
Keep me posted if there's anything else you need. I'm still here to help you more. Just add a comment below. Wishing you all the best!
There is not an option for the FREE reader. Each reader has a price. Am I missing something? Over chat I was told I now have to call to get the free one? I'm a little confused on why this is seemingly harder than it should be for me. Can you tell me where I'm going wrong?
Hi there, @SarahGD,
It's nice to have you here today. I want to make sure you get your card reader so you can process your customer payments.
You'll automatically get a free reader once you sign up to GoPayments. Since you already tried ordering it but to no avail, I'd recommend contacting our Payments Support Team. For security purposes, we would need to access your Merchant Services account, which I'm unable to do in this public forum.
To contact us, please check the QuickBooks Payments phone number of this article: Which Payments product do you need help with?
That should get you routed to the right person to take care of your order. Please let me know how it goes. I'm always around to help you in any ways I can. Have a good day!
I am having trouble with the reader not swiping cards any more (might be newer cards don't swipe because they all have the numbers on the back and the chip), and was asked for my Quickbooks desktop license, which has nothing to do with this? We are not syncing them together. The reader I was told to upgrade a few years ago because it could read a chip and it cannot reach the chip. I could not understand a word from the lady who answered my call, but sounded like she said she was going to put me through to the correct department, after which, I was on hold for a thousand years.
It's my priority to get you pointed in the right direction for determining why your card reader is not working.
I'd like to check this for you and get it taken care of myself. However, I won't be able to check your account without asking for sensitive information. I don't want your account information displayed here for security reasons since the Community is a peer-to-peer forum.
I know you've already called in. However, I still suggest getting in touch with our QuickBooks Merchant Team to have this re-investigated. Agents have the necessary tools, like screen-sharing to get you back up and running.

"You'll automatically get a free reader once you sign up to GoPayments."
Really? How? Because it sure didn't tell me that. It didn't ask me where to ship it, or send me a email, or a tracking number. It wanted money and my payment options to buy it.
"I'd recommend contacting our Payments Support Team." Really? That in itself is a long tedious task, not to mention an annoying one.
Helping you get a card reader from our Merchant Services Center is my priority. Let's get this sorted out.

We're advertising online that the card reader is free when you sign up (new) for a QuickBooks Payments account. You will get an email with a link to get it for free. Please check your email folders to see if there's an email about it.
You can check out this page: Mobile payments made simple. It's the reader on the right, and it's compatible with QuickBooks Desktop as well via USB cable. You can also go through the Spec Sheet for more details.
If you've just signed up for a QuickBooks Payments account and didn't receive an email, please contact our QuickBooks Payment Support. That way, they can check this for you.
I can see that my colleagues have already provided good resources for the setup. Maybe you are also interested to find out when QuickBooks Payments deposits your customers' payments to your account.
I wish you more sales upon using this payment method.
