How do I run a class report within a division?

Hello there, @kelly-bunting.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I want to make sure this gets taken care of.

When you say division, were you referring to location? Some reports in QuickBooks Online allow you to pull information by class or location.

In order for me to provide you with the best resolution, can you share some additional information like the name and details you want to see on a report?

You may leave a comment below by clicking the Reply button.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon. I'll be on the look out for your response.

Thanks for checking this with us, michael891.

If you mean running a report that shows classes, you'll want to use the Class Tracking feature. This allows you to organize or assign classes. First, you'll want to turn on the class tracking feature in QBO. Below are the steps that you can follow:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Select Advanced, then select the Categories section to edit.
  3. Check Track classes.
  4. Check Warn me when a transaction isn’t assigned a class. This is optional, but it's good to turn it on so when you look at reports, you know everything got classified.
  5. Under Assign classes, select One to the entire transaction or One to each row in a transaction.
  6. Select Save, then Done.

Here's how to set up classes:

  1. Click the Gear icon and All Lists.
  2. Select Classes. ( You can also add locations by selecting Locations.)
  3. Click the New button.
  4. Add the name of the class or location and click Save.

To know more about class tracking, here's a recommended article: Set up and work with class and location tracking.

You may want to run a report by class to review the transactions according to class. Check out this article to learn more: Run reports by class.

Get back to me with additional questions or if you mean something else. It will be my pleasure to assist you further. Have a good one.
