I have ended my tenure as the treasurer for a seasonal not for profit. I have closed out the prior year.
Do I need to transfer the Company file as well as the license? I do not want my personal information to transfer. If I transfer the license and they later have questions, will I be able to open the prior years on my computer? Until now, I have been the only user of the Quickbooks account under this license with the exception of the accountant. Is there someone who can guide me through the process?

There are ways to manage and transfer the files in QuickBooks Desktop. Let me show you the way you can handle it.
The first thing you need to do is to create a backup copy. That way, you can keep track of the records and have all information if they have later questions.

I was told that I needed to transfer the license ownership but this seems much more straightforward. By making the new treasurer the master administrator my name will be removed and providing her with the login rights she can sign in and install on her computer. The ownership is tied to the club and EIN and not to me. Is this correct? The merchant services account required my SSN (for banking purposes?) and I have already cancelled that. The new treasurer will be able to create a new merchant services account totally separate from mine? Thank you for your guidance.
