This feature offer to "set number of previous companies" and it maxes out at 20. I run more than 20 companies. What do I do?

Good to see you here in the QuickBooks Community. Allow me to help provide some insights about opening a previous company file.
QuickBooks can only set 20 list companies that you've previously opened. Currently, there isn't a way to add another company once you've exceeded the limit as of this moment.
In additional, if you want to remove a company file from the list but you don't want to permanently delete the file you can edit the companies that QuickBooks displays on startup. Here's how:

- Click the Open or restore and existing company button on the No Company Open thing that sits on the desktop when no company is open.
- Pick File | Open or Restore Company from the QB menu.
...then click Next and click on the company to open it.
