how do you enter a check under chart of accounts credit card register

Entering a check in the Chart of Accounts credit card register in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is not possible, as checks typically affect bank accounts instead of credit card accounts, Spaulding1136.

Alternatively, if you're recording check payments and the transaction applies to a credit card account, you'll record it in QBO as an Expense instead.

Here's how to achieve it:

  1. Log in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to the My Apps menu and select the Accounting tab.
  3. Choose the Chart of Accounts and click on the View Register for the specific credit card account.
  4. In the credit card register, use the drop-down menu to select an account type.
  5. Enter the necessary transaction details.
  6. Once completed, click Save.
