I'm using QBO. I send the individual an invitation and receive the message "there is no QBO company account associated with this email.

How do you reactivate a user?

Thanks for visiting the Community today, @rtodd. This error happens when your invited user's email address is tied up to an inactive subscription.  


You'll want to ask another email address and reinvite him/her to access your QBO account. Here's how: 


  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Manage Users
  2. Click the Add user button and select the user type, then click Next
  3. Manage what access we can give to this user, then click Next, then Next again. 
  4. Complete the details and enter the new email address in the field.
  5. Hit Save.


Have your new user check his/her email, then select the “Let’s go!” link. Let them sign in or enter info to create a new account.

We have followed those steps and the message we receive is "there is no QBO company account associated with this email address."

Let's make sure to use the correct email address or login credentials, rtodd.


Any additional characters, punctuation, or letters on the email address can be the cause of the error. If it's correct, I'd recommend reaching out to our Phone Support team. An agent will take a look at your account and can link your email address with your QuickBooks account.


Here's how:

  1. Click the Help icon, and then Contact Us.
  2. Enter Link unused email address to QuickBooks Online account.
  3. Click Let's talk.
  4. Select either Message an Agent or Get a callback.
